What is DBS · DBS란
DBS is a foundation stone, not a renovation. It is twelve weeks set aside to read the entire Bible, Genesis to Revelation, every book, every era, and to read it slowly enough that what you find can build something. It is not a survey course. It is a load-bearing foundation laid by a young person who plans to spend the rest of their life building on top of it.
DBS는 단순한 개조가 아니라 견고한 기초석을 다지는 시간입니다. 창세기부터 요한계시록까지, 모든 책과 모든 시대를 아우르는 성경을 읽기 위해 마련된 12주간의 시간이며, 그 안에서 발견한 것들이 무언가를 쌓아 올릴 수 있을 만큼 시간을 가지고 깊이 읽는 과정입니다. 이는 단순히 성경을 개괄적으로 훑어보는 과정이 아니라, 앞으로의 삶을 단단한 기반 위에 쌓아 올리며 살아갈 계획을 가진 청년이 자신의 삶에 진리의 기초석을 세우는 시간입니다.

Whole Bible, not highlights.
Most believers have read fragments their whole lives. DBS reads it end to end, in proper sequence, so the story becomes coherent.

대부분의 신앙인은 평생 성경의 단편들만 읽어 왔습니다. DBS는 처음부터 끝까지, 올바른 순서로 읽어 그 이야기가 하나의 흐름으로 이어지게 합니다.
모국어로 읽는 성경
영혼이 처음 감정을 배운 그 언어로 읽습니다. 한국 학생은 한국어 성경을, 영어권 학생은 영어 성경을 읽습니다. 번역의 우열은 없습니다. 둘 다 각자의 모국어입니다.
분별력이라는 기술
성경적 참 진리와, 진리처럼 들리는 것을 구별할 수 있는 사람이 됩니다. 이런 분별력은 생각보다 드문 능력입니다.

Day 84 · 84일 후
Twelve weeks from now you will have read every book of the Bible. You will have a teachable mind that is no longer easily flattered or easily shaken. You will have a testimony you can tell publicly, in either language. You will know how to sit with a passage long enough for it to speak. And you will be a few inches more humble about everything you used to be confident about.
12주 후면 여러분은 성경의 모든 책을 다 읽게 될 것입니다. 더 이상 쉽게 칭찬에 흔들리거나 동요하지 않는, 배움에 열린 마음을 갖게 될 것입니다. 두 언어 중 어느 것으로든 공개적으로 나눌 수 있는 간증을 갖게 될 것입니다. 성경 구절이 스스로 말해주기까지 충분히 오랫동안 그 말씀과 함께 머무는 법을 알게 될 것입니다. 그리고 예전에는 자신 있게 여겼던 모든 일에 대해 조금 더 겸손해질 것입니다.

Genesis / Exodus / Job
From Creation to the Fall, Abraham's covenant, and the Exodus to Mt. Sinai, studied alongside ancient creation stories and recent scientific discoveries. God's original intentions and His plan to redeem all things. Learning to ask critical questions of the text and how different worldviews shape our perspectives. The week closes with the philosophical problem of evil in Job.
창세기 / 출애굽기 / 욥기
창조부터 타락, 아브라함의 언약, 시내산까지의 출애굽, 고대 창조 이야기와 최근 과학적 발견들과 함께 창조를 향한 하나님의 원래 의도와 만물을 구속하시려는 계획, 성경본문을 향한 비판적 질문들과 세계관이 우리의 시각을 형성하는 방식을 배웁니다. 욥기에서 마주하는 악의 철학적 문제들을 다룹니다.
Leviticus / Numbers / Deuteronomy
From Mt. Sinai through the wilderness to the borders of the Promised Land. The Mosaic Covenant and its connection to the New Covenant through Jesus, with Hebrews as a bridge between the two. The types of laws given to Israel, their underlying principles, and the importance of faith over rebellion and unbelief.

시내산에서 광야를 지나 약속의 땅 경계까지, 하나님이 백성과 맺으신 모세 언약과 예수를 통해 세우실 새 언약의 연결고리를 탐구하며, 히브리서로 두 언약을 잇습니다. 이스라엘에게 주어진 다양한 율법의 종류와 그 안에 담긴 원칙들을 살펴보고, 반역과 불신의 위험 속에서 믿음의 중요성을 되새깁니다.

Through victory and defeat, we learn to overcome our own battles through God's empowerment, and the importance of remaining faithful to God and His commands despite the pressures of culture and society. The Psalms reveal who God is, who we are in Him, and our unique destiny.

Samuel leads Israel from a tribal federation to a monarchy. We focus on David, his character, sins, achievements, and his relationships with Jonathan and God. Wisdom literature is introduced through three of the four wisdom books.

From Solomon to a divided kingdom. The rise of three empires, the kings of Israel and Judah, and the development of prophetic ministry through Elijah and Elisha. Reflecting on the legacies of the kings, we revisit the events of our lives and examine our own values against biblical ones.

솔로몬에서 분열 왕국으로, 세 제국의 흥망 속에서 이스라엘과 유다의 왕들을 살펴보고, 엘리야와 엘리사를 통해 예언 사역의 발전을 봅니다. 왕들의 유산을 돌아보며 우리 삶의 사건들을 되짚어보고, 우리 자신의 가치관을 성경적 가치관에 비추어봅니다.

The prophetic books open up, building on last week's political, religious and social backdrop of Israel. We learn to read poetic, figurative language and grow in confidence knowing that God keeps His word, is engaged in history, and is sovereign over future events. Prophets warned of judgment but also brought hope and restoration, pointing to the Messiah.

Continuing through the prophets, Zephaniah, Habakkuk, and the voices of exile. We discover what happened when God removed His protection from Jerusalem, and the promise of the New Covenant. Reflecting on the cost of calling, we see that even in a pagan world, God is sovereign and we can be His witnesses.

The Old Testament closes with the return from exile and the rebuilding of Jerusalem. We bridge the gap between the testaments, from a Persian to a Greek to a Roman world, setting the stage for the birth of Jesus. Themes include restoration, pioneering, leadership, realigning with God's will, and fasting and tithing.

After 8 weeks, we finally arrive at the life and ministry of Jesus. His death and resurrection changed the course of history, the New Covenant fulfilled, Messianic prophecies realized, God's redemptive plan activated. We learn to read the gospels and interpret parables, and take a closer look at Jesus' teachings and His predictions about the Temple and His return.

Jesus sends His disciples into the world and the Church is born. The Holy Spirit spurs its growth through Pentecost, Paul's conversion, the Jerusalem Council, and his missionary journeys. Epistles are introduced as a new genre, we learn to read them in historical context, discover the superiority of the New Covenant, and are encouraged to continue the race with perseverance. We also find practical guidance for living out faith, enduring hardship, and discerning false teachers.
